Manila Typhoon Calamity in 2009

There was a terrible disaster by Typhoon "Ondoy" in Manila, Philippine in Summer 2009. Many people in Manila were devastated by it and Metro Manila Church of Christ which has a strong relationship with Seoul Church of Christ (SCOC), also, had serious damages from it. As a means of helping them out, SCOC held a charity event for donation and I made this video for it.

Short Movie - "4 Guys, 4 Theme, for God."

This video is the short movie for my friends and me to share about the christian life in Seattle Church of Christ in July, 2009. It's made up of four short messages based on four guys' real life stories as a christian. There are four themes, such as vision, endurance, God's promises, and three Steves.

(There is 10 min. time limitation to upload a video file on YouTube, so I separated the original video into four parts.)

(Part 1) This is the first part of "4 Guys, 4 Themes, For God." There are the opening and the first story, "Vision" by Ryan Jang. In this episode, he talks about the perspective that one needs to have to overcome his difficulties in his life.

(Part 2) This is the second part of "4 Guys, 4 Themes, For God." There is the second story, "Endurance" by Jay Silver. In this episode, he talks about how he learned endurance through participating in Triathlon many times.

(Part 3) This is the third part of "4 Guys, 4 Themes, For God." There is the third story, "God's Promise" by Felipe Bouroncle. In this episode, there are four sub-parts which show his conviction about God's promises in his life.

(Part 4) This is the last part of "4 Guys, 4 Themes, For God." There are the last story, "Three Steves" by Steven Luksic, and the ending credit. In this episode, three people, who are in fact the same person, show at the same time and he talks about how he made the right decision in his life.

Stippling Technique (1)

The stippling technique is one of art painting styles. This study was about the basic stippling technique which changes general images to artistic images with a lot of black dots. To express such stippling images in art, artists have to put a great amount of time and effort into drawing them. However, the stippling technique in Computer Graphics, especially NPR, can help people to make stippling images through computer system quickly and easily. There are two main technologies which are Voronoi Diagram and Weighted CVD (Central Voronoi Diagram). The former one is to make every dots have even space among them. The latter one is to express the light intensity of original images.

• Examples of Stippling Drawing Technique with Weighted CVD.
(All of them were rendered in 2003.)

Fig. 2. 'St. Maria' with 10,000 dots and 20 iterations

Color Stippling Technique

This video represents my thesis for Master degree of Computer Graphics in 2005. Color Stippling Technique is kind of Non-Photorealistic Rendering Technique. This idea referred to pointillism of neo-impressionist artists, such as Georges Seurat. Through the Color Stippling technique, general photo images can be changed to artistic ones fast and easy. You can check this paper here.

The First Exhibition of the Basic Stippling Technique

This is the poster for my first exhibition in the 4th Annual Festival of The Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & FilM in Chung-Ang University (Seoul, South Korea), in 2003. This is the early study of the stippling technique in Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR). (I will explain what is stippling technique in this website soon.)

I showed the process of the stippling technique with sample images and provided the instant printing service at the exhibition as below.

• Test Example #1: Input (Left): Sport Shoes, Result (Right): 5000 dots, 5 iteration.

• Test Example #2: Input (Left): Face Sculpture, Result (Right): 3000 dots, 5 iteration.

• Printing Service Example: Input (Left): Visitor, Result (Right): 10000 dots, 5 iteration.

All the examples were made by a computer within several minutes.

Commercial Posters for Master Stucco H.C.

These are the commercial posters of Master Stucco H.C. for exhibition in Home Daily Show, in Seattle, WA. Since the client cannot stay at the exhibition all day, I focused on designing the posters which can explain the company's work enough.

Commercial Flyer for Master Stucco H.C.

This is the commercial flyer for Master Stucco H.C. The company provides a variety of Stucco work and the owner of it wants to put all kinds of the company's working area into the flyer. Therefore, I tried to put the list of the services into the flyer and focus on clear design.

Commercial Video of Master Stucco H.C.

This is the commercial video of Master Stucco H.C. for exhibition in Home Daily Show in Seattle, in June 2009. Since this video is for the exhibition, it is different from the commercial video for TV advertisement. I focused on showing their past works with unique slideshow. Long time interview and narration are not effective to transmit the contents in the exhibition area because there is much noise and people do not stay long enough to listen to such long narration there.
